Der Norden Euböas. Limni ist ein kleiner Ort. Ein paar Tavernen, Mini-Markets, Apotheken. Kein Land hat eine höhere Apothekendichte als Griechenland, scheint mir. Limni ist perfekt, um Griechenland jenseits der Boutique-Hotels und All-Inclusive-Anlagen zu erleben. In der Nähe sind schöne Strände. Nachmittags kann man den alten Männern beim Angeln zusehen und dabei in die Sonne blinzeln. Am Meer sitzen, anschließend in einer der guten Tavernen hier Essen bestellen. Und warten, dass nichts passiert. Fühlt sich seltsam an, diese Bilder zu sehen, vor ein paar Tagen erst aufgenommen, während das Fernsehen Bilder von den schweren Bränden in der Nähe Athens sendet.

The North of Evia. Limni is a very small town. Some Mini-Markets, tavernas, pharmacies. I think there is no country with a higher density of pharmacies than Greece, don’t ask me why. Limni is the perfect place to experience Greece without it’s stylish boutique hotels or not so stylish all-inclusive resorts. There are nice beaches, in the afternoon you watch the old men trying to catch some fish. You go to one of several good tavernas, order some delicious Greek food and look at the glistening glasses on the table. Strange to post these pictures, shot just a few days before, while listening to the caatastrophic news about severe fires near Athens, not too far away from us.
