Mein vorletzter Tag in Zagreb, die letzte von mir besuchte Probe von Nastja. Sie lacht gern, auch wenn die Dinge mal nicht so klappen, auch wenn es noch mal eine ganz andere Herausforderung ist, nicht nur die eigene Choreografie tänzerisch zu meistern, sondern nebenbei noch das Spielen einer Viola zu integrieren, und die Loops auf drei Lautsprechern ansprechend zum Klingen zu bringen. Alles in einer Performance. Dabei ist sie nach der Hälfte des Stücks ausserdem so schnell, bewegt sie sich ansatzlos und so überraschend in immer neue Richtungen, dass man mit der Kamera kaum hinterherkommt. ‚Kuna‘ ist die kroatische Währung. Übersetzt heisst das ‚Marder‘. Diese geschmeidige Drahtigkeit, diese Energie, das passt schon sehr zu Nastja. Ob Marder auch den Humor mit ihr teilen, weiss ich nicht. Ganz sicher aber wäre mein Aufenthalt in Zagreb nicht annähernd so anregend und angenehm gewesen ohne die Proben mit Nastja.

The second to the last day in Zagreb, my last rehearsal with Nastja. She likes to laugh, even in moments, when the things don’t work out as she would like them to. And what a challenge it is. Not only does she have to master her own choreography, she also plays the viola and has to integrate and coordinate the loops she creates with her instrument on three different speakers. All that in one performance. Having said that, after the first half of her piece she moves so fast, always changing her direction in unpredictable directions, that it’s difficult to keep track with the camera. ‚Kuna‘ is the name of the Croatian currency. ‚Kuna‘ means ‚marten‘. And indeed, the sleek wiriness of the marten perfectly fits to Nastja. Although I guess, the marten lacks her humour. Be it as it may, my stay in Zagreb wouldn’t have been half as enjoyable and stimulating without the rehearsals of Nastja. Thank you for that!
